YorkMix Radio breakfast show presenters Laura and Leigh delivered £100 worth chocolate eggs to York Hospital this lunchtime, in support of their fundraising tombola – and there’s still time for you to help them too.
York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity are hosting the event in the foyer of York Hospital, with eggs donated by businesses and members of the public.
Visitors, patients and staff are all being encourage to buy a ticket for the chance to win one of the hundreds of chocolate eggs.
Becky White, fundraising assistant, told Laura and Leigh they were raising money for the childrens’ wards in York and Scarborough.
They will also be distributing eggs to children coming into the hospitals over Easter, to help them feel that people have been thinking about them.
The charity helps fund the extras to improve healthcare facilities above and beyond the NHS, making patients feel better.
They also support staff to help make the hospital experience the best it can be for all who visit and stay there.
