Take a look inside York’s newest barbecue restaurant.
Hickory’s Smokehouse, which is due to open next Monday on (24 February), is a Southern-inspired bar and restaurant opening on Shipton Road, Skelton.
YorkMix visited this week to get a first look at what to expect from the much-anticipated eatery.
The former Riverside Farm has been transformed inside and out.
“We are an authentic American smokehouse with Southern hospitality at our heart,” manager Jason Tobin told YorkMix.
“We import our smokers from Tennessee and Missouri to bring that true American style to us.”
They also smoke their own meats on site. “It’s fantastic to be able to bring that to our guests.”
The menu of Hickory’s Smokehouse, owned by Greene King, will feature 16-hour smoked brisket, Memphis baby-back ribs, hand-pulled pork and smoked chicken wings.
Also available will be burgers, subs, and a ‘smokehouse platter’ for those who can’t quite make up their mind.
There will also be a cinema room showing classic kids films, an outdoor kids play area, and a frozen custard creation station.
Hickory’s Smokehouse York opens on Monday 24 February from midday. It will then be open from Monday to Fridays from 12pm to 11pm and Saturday and Sundays from 10am to 11pm.
