This week is International Women’s Day (Saturday 8 March) – here’s how YorkMix were marking the occasion!
YorkMix were celebrating the special day today (Thursday) by bringing together some inspirational women in North Yorkshire for a fun and free networking event.
It took place at The Hospitium in Museum Gardens from 1pm to 3pm, and featured free refreshments, a live quiz, goodie bags – and of course, a room full of incredible women in business.
The event had a fantastic turn-out, with women from local businesses such as Door 84, St Leonard’s Hospice, York Proms, York Mumbler, York RLFC, and of course our event partners York Museums Trust.
The afternoon started with time for networking and enjoying delicious cake and refreshments from Bradshaws Catering, before YorkMix‘s breakfast presenter Laura introduced the itinerary of fun. Then followed a speech from Dawn from York Museums Trust.
We went upstairs – to a beautifully decorated room – where attendees could grab their free goodie bag, which featured treats like a notebook from Avorium and info for some fantastic local business, and settle in for the quiz!
The quiz was led by our ‘Queen of the Quizzical’ YorkMix‘s Victoria, with a special music round on the kazoo from Laura. The questions were all themed around women, and our winning team table won an afternoon tea voucher to Mama Doreen’s.
It was an amazing turnout and such a fantastic atmosphere of women supporting women.
Thank you to everyone who attended our event, it was empowering to be in a room full of amazing women in business.
