Detectives in York are appealing for information after a woman was robbed in the city.
The victim, a 21-year-old local woman, was making her way home from a night out when she was approached by a man on the cycle track between Richmond Street and Little Hallfield Road, near James Street, at around 1.30am on Thursday 24 January 2013.
The man pushed her to the ground and stole her black handbag which contained her Blackberry Curve mobile phone, a small quantity of cash and a bunch of keys.
The man is white and spoke with a local accent. He was wearing a light-coloured tracksuit with green piping.
Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the robbery or can help to identify the man responsible, to get in touch.
Detective Constable Emma Newton, of York CID, said: “Fortunately, the victim didn’t come to any serious harm in this incident but it is important that we locate the man responsible.
“If you witnessed the robbery itself, know who is responsible, or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident, please contact the police or Crimestoppers with information.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who has seen the stolen property, knows where it is, or has been offered any of the items for sale.”
