A man has been charged with assaulting a police officer following an incident at York railway station on Saturday night (May 20).
At 10.45pm two men were seen to be acting drunk and disorderly.
When asked by an officer to leave the station, one of the men became aggressive and assaulted the woman officer.
She called for emergency assistance and after the arrival of other officers, the man resisted arrest and captor spray was used to help detain him.
David Craig Grant, aged 33, of Ashworth Court, Blackpool, was arrested and charged. He has been bailed to appear before York Magistrates’ Court on June 8.
