If you’ve ever watched Total Wipeout and thought, I’d like to have a go at that – well, soon you’ll have your chance.

And you won’t have to fly to Argentina, where the BBC series was filmed. Instead you can head to North Yorkshire Water Park near Scarborough.

Yorkshire’s newest AquaPark will open to the public on Tuesday, July 18, with online booking live on Monday (July 10).

Rockers, rollers and blast bags

Finishing touches are underway for the AquaPark, a Total Wipeout-style inflatable obstacle course.

It will include floating climbing walls, trampolines, balance bars, rockers and rollers for people to jump, swim and climb on.

More details

The attraction also includes a large slide which towers over the water and sends people flying downwards.

There’s also a blast bag, which uses a powerful force of air to blast friends, family and guests skyward.

This summer, the North Yorkshire Water Park will also offer stand up paddle boarding, sailing, team building events, wind surfing, open water swimming and kayaking.

Huge interest

All this is found at Wykeham Lakes on the Dawnay Estate, five miles from Scarborough. The park also has specialist fishing lakes set amongst mature woodland.

The AquaPark is open to everyone over the age of six years old. Minimum height is 1.2 metres and you must be able to swim at least 50 metres.

Future plans for the water park include additional water sports activities including pedalos and mini-ports.

Manager of the North Yorkshire Water Park Andrew Backhouse said: “There has been a huge amount of interest in the AquaPark and we are looking forward to a busy summer.”
