Rachel Croft has released her new track ‘Deep Water’, the third single since her first studio album.
Rachel is an indie-pop and folk singer-songwriter and musician based in York.
A lighter turn from previous releases, the single opens with a soft, layered vocal – a hallmark of Rachel’s production style.
It is generally acoustic in its feel with light instrumentation that builds gradually throughout the song.
With her roots in folk, Rachel showcases deep rich vocal tones drawn from her background in jazz and infuses fresh indie and contemporary production choices in her music.
Rachel is instrumental in all parts of her music, including the production and media surrounding the releases. The cover art for ‘Deep Water’ was painted by herself with watercolour, using paint gifted to her from the person the song is about.
Her original music has been entertaining audiences across the UK and Europe since 2014.
Rachel has proved popular on the UK Folk Festival Scene and has embarked on five solo tours of the Netherlands since 2018. Rachel has also supported artists such as KT Tunstall, Skerryvore, Benjamin Francis Leftwich and more.
Rachel also has a strong online presence – with some of her YouTube videos reaching over 148K views – which has enabled her to almost entirely crowdfund each of her releases.
