Where can you go to eat and drink outdoors in York that’s warm and dry? Good question!

Now York has emerged out of lockdown and into Tier 2 restrictions, it means that mixing of households indoors is not allowed.

However, you can meet friends and family you don’t live with in outdoor spaces – in no more than groups of six, with social distancing in place.

Pubs and bars are only allowed to open if they’re operating as restaurants, so alcohol can only be served with a substantial meal. Venues must stop taking orders by 10pm and must close by 11pm.

Because of the updated restrictions we’ve updated our guide to all the pubs, restaurants and cafes in the city and beyond with cosy, heated and sheltered spaces outdoors that are still open and operating.

Many establishments around York are adapting to the pandemic restrictions and allowing loved ones to still meet up safely.
