Police officers go into the River Ouse to rescue a man who was in the water

Police managed to get the man out of the water

The Police and York Rescue Boat were called to an incident on the River Ouse in York tonight (Monday 12 July)

It happened at North Street next to the Park Inn Hotel.

A York Rescue Boat spokesperson said:

“The team was called out by North Yorkshire Police to reports of a person in the River. Our lifeboat Jorvik Protector was immediately launched.

“Upon arrival at the scene the male had been removed from the water by police.

Two crew deployed ashore to provide casualty care before the person was handed over to the care of Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust.”

York Rescue Boat were called in along with 999 teams
