A man is in custody tonight after an incident led to his arrest on Kings Staith in York.
Police cordoned off an area by the river along with King Street and Cumberland Street this evening after a disturbance.
York Rescue Boat was on standby while officers brought the incident to a safe conclusion just after 10pm.
There was no wider threat to members of the public.
