Police are dealt with a collision on Wigginton Road near York Hospital on Saturday night.
Wigginton Road was closed between the Crichton Avenue railway bridge and roundabout with Fountayne Street.
It caused traffic to back up on all routes around the city.
The road has since been reopened.
