Say Owt Slam makes a triumphant return to the stage after a two year hiatus.
The last Say Owt Slam was held in February 2020 before the you-know-what – and they’re raring to get back on stage.
Say Owt Slam will be at The Crescent on Saturday 5 February at 7:30pm.
Established in 2014, Say Owt are a group of performance poets who host high-energy spoken word nights.

Highly commended in the York Culture Awards, the slams have been praised as ‘raucous’ evenings of joy with plenty of cheering and laughter – and maybe even a few tears.
Each slam features a selection of poets who each have three minutes to impress the audience. Randomly selected judges from the audience will then give a score out of 10 before the highest scored poet is crowned Slam Champion.
Guesting at Say Owt Slam will be Bristol-based writer, performer and producer Malaika Kegode.
She has two poetry collections published and has appeared on a variety of literary stages such as at the Edinburgh Book Festival and WOMAD (World of Music, Arts and Dance festival).
Her work is inventive and lyrical, and she is passionate about writing on the themes of cinema, culture and race.
This will also be Say Owt’s first slam at The Crescent.
Tickets are £10 and can be purchased via The Crescent’s website. For more information about Say Owt, visit their website here.
