TransPennine Express (TPE) is asking customers to plan carefully ahead of planned RMT strike action taking place on Sunday (13 March) and delay travel if possible.

An amended timetable will be in place on this date, which will see a significant reduction in available services.

They say: “We’re advising customers not to travel on the majority of routes and to plan carefully if journeys are necessary.”

The RMT has also announced further planned strike action by its TPE conductors from 00:01 – 23:59 on the following dates:

Sunday 13 March
Sunday 20 March
Sunday 27 March
Sunday 3 April
Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 April
Saturday 30 April & Sunday 1 May

There will be operating a very limited service on the following routes on Sunday 13 March:

They have spoken with industry partners and they have agreed to carry customers who have tickets marked “AP TPE ONLY” or “TPE ONLY”, as well as flexible tickets (Off-Peak, Anytime, etc.) on days of strike action.

Ticket acceptance is in place with the following operators until the dates specified during strike action:

TPE added: “Tickets may only be used on routes specified in ticket acceptance details above and staff at stations, and via our social media channels, will be able to advise you on journey options.

“In the event that these be required, we will seek to source and provide stand-by buses at certain locations.

Provision of standby buses will be considered on each day of strike action and, if available, customers will be advised locally by station staff.”
