This was the scene after a lorry overturned after a crash with another HGV, spilling its load of sand across the road.
It has blocked the A19 at Eggborough.
Sgt Paul Cording of North Yorkshire Police said on X: “The A19 at Eggborough is currently blocked following an RTC between two HGVs which my team are dealing with.
“Thankfully there are only minor injuries but recovery is likely to be complex & lengthy so please avoid the area whilst this takes place.”
The crash happened at lunchtime today (Monday). The AA said: “Road closed and heavy traffic due to crash on A19 both ways from Loverose Way to Selby Road.
“Ongoing since earlier this afternoon.”
Phil Cain, who took one of the pictures above, told YorkMix that “the driver was out of his cab, walking but pretty shaken”.
