Police have arrested three teenage boys after responding to reports of someone with a weapon in York city centre.
CCTV operators worked with officers on the ground to carry out a search yesterday afternoon (Thursday).
At about 4pm police located three boys on Bootham and recovered two bladed articles close by.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of affray and being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.
A second boy, also 16, was arrested on suspicion of affray, being concerned in the supply of a class A drug and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
A third boy, who is 17, was also arrested on suspicion of affray and being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.
They are in custody.
