A serious crash closed a section of the A64 in York on Sunday night.
It was on the eastbound carriageway and police asked drivers to avoid the area.
North Yorkshire Police said at 8.48pm: “The A64 eastbound carriageway in York is currently closed near the junction with Tadcaster Road due to a collision.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area and follow diversions.”
The A64 eastbound between the A1237 York South and the junction with the A1036 remained closed on Monday morning due to crash investigation work.
National Highways said: “The event is expected to clear between 12.30pm and 12.45pm.”
