Fifteen drivers were stopped for speeding during a police operation in a North Yorkshire village.
Officers carried out speed checks on the A1246 through the village of Fairburn in the Selby district yesterday (Friday).
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The speed limit through Fairburn village is 30mph and numerous complaints have been received by police from residents regarding speeding in the village.
“During the operation a total of 15 drivers were stopped by officers.
“Ten were given official warnings and five were reported for speeding offences, the highest being 45mph in a 30mph zone which is 50% over the speed limit.”
