Police are appealing for witnesses after what they described as “extremely dangerous” behaviour by a group of youths in York.
It happened last Thursday (15 May) between 7pm and 8.30pm.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing to the public for witnesses and CCTV in relation to a group of youths carrying petrol cans in the area of Rowntree Park, Scarcroft Allotments and the Blossom Street area.
“This behaviour is extremely dangerous and poses a serious risk to public safety.
“We are concerned for the safety of these individuals and the wider community.”
It comes as the North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service has warned of the dangers of wildfires, and following two hoax calls in York this morning.
