A mountain rescue team and emergency services helped a woman to safety after she suffered a suspected broken ankle in Norton.
They were called out at 10.16pm last night (Tuesday) to the incident at the top of a woodland track at Whitewall in the town.
Malton firefighters went to the scene, and volunteers from the Scarborough & Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team were called in.

On its Facebook page, the mountain rescue team said: “Working with the ambulance service and a crew from North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, the patient was assessed and treated on site before evacuation on one of our stretchers to the roadside for transportation to definitive medical care.”
They were at the incident for about two hours.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews used a scoop stretcher and crew power to lift female back down the embankment to waiting ambulance.”
