A car failed to stop after colliding with a 12-year-old child in York.
The incident took place at around 4pm on Tuesday (15 July), on Gale Lane in Acomb, near to the junction of Lowfields Drive.
The silver Vauxhall drove on the pavement and in doing so, hit the child. Thankfully, the child only sustained slight injuries and is recovering at home.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:
“We’re appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact us.
“We would appeal directly to the driver themselves to make contact with us.”
