Firefighters were called out after a car burst into flames in Selby.
They responded to the incident on Gowthorpe at 10.03am.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from Selby responded to a report of a diesel fuel car on fire.
“Crews used one breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and small tools to extinguish the fire.”
One of the two occupants on the car reported later that they had both managed to get out unhurt.
The incident caused slow traffic for a while, before the car was towed away from the scene.
