North Yorkshire fire crews rescue dog after it tumbles down river bank

Firefighters came to the rescue after a dog fell down a river bank today (Sunday).

It happened in Stamford Bridge at 10.23am.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from York and an animal rescue unit from Malton responded to a report of a dog that had fallen down a steep river bank and was unable to get back up.

“Crews used a triple extension ladder and a line to gain access to the dog. Crews rescued the dog and reunited it with its owner.”
