Two vehicles have been damaged after drivers went over a raised manhole cover.

Charlotte Haley reported that she had one of her tyres slashed on the B1222 Bishopdyke Road at Sherburn-in-Elmet.

She said it was about three inches above the road surface and is just by the junction for Hurricane Way, heading toward Sherburn.

Incident location

“It caused punctures to me and another driver,” she said.

Charlotte added that it’s poorly signed and people should be cautious driving along the road, especially at night.
