Police response
YorkMix contacted North Yorkshire Police for a response to concerns, a spokesperson said:
“Bishopthorpe – and the City of York as a whole – are extremely safe places to live, work and visit, and we’re doing everything we can to keep it that way.
“Burglary here is falling: city-wide, there were 90 fewer burglaries in the first six months of this year, compared to the same period last year.
“To help us keep up that positive trend, we ask everyone to check the crime prevention advice on our website, take steps to protect your property, and remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity in your neighbourhood.”
