The first city-wide York Environment Week is in full swing – but there’s still lots to look forward to.
Running from 28th November to 6th December, York Environment Week 2020 (YEW2020) aims to celebrate and showcase the work of environmental groups active in the city.
The week is co-ordinated by York Environment Forum, which was established over ten years ago and play an active role in local consultation processes, as well as taking a proactive stance on engagement with topical issues.

Outdoor events have been able to go ahead, which is great news as it was thought these would have to be postponed due to the second national lockdown.
Though some physical events will be permitted, social distancing and other precautions will be in place.
But for those who wish to take part in the environmental activities from the comfort of their own home, there’s a variety of virtual events that include tours, talks and workshops.
Here are just some of the exciting events coming up in the next few days. From tree planting and maintenance, to an introduction to Rowntree Park’s Forest School, to how to build your own small solar panel systems – there is something for everyone to take part in.
