The York Beer & Cider Festival is back!
The popular festival, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, kicks off today for four days of specially brewed fun.
Run by York CAMRA, the event is taking place at St Lawrence Parish Church from Wednesday 18 to Saturday 21 September.
For 2024 it’s better than ever – with over 200 beers and ciders to be showcased over the festival.
The festival aims to celebrate the best of British brewing, and features a selection of beers from more than 70 locations across the UK – all the way from Cornwall to the Highlands of Scotland.
Visitors have the opportunity to sample a wide variety of beer, including the chance to discover beers that aren’t available in York at any other time. So if you like traditional ales, craft beers, hoppy IPAs, bitters or stouts – there’s something here to suit every palate.
There’s also a diverse selection of European beers and lagers highlighted, over 35 traditional ciders from across the UK, plus wines, mead, and prosecco too.
The festival also has a big beer garden outside and a range of delicious street food on offer.
To get served at the festival, don’t forget to bring your own glass (CE-marked and lined) with you! Or purchase at souvenir glass at the festival for £3.
The event is open from 12pm to 11pm each day. From tomorrow, there are two sessions per day with the option to buy an all-day ticket.
CAMRA members will receive a £2 discount on the price of a session ticket or £3 discount on an all day ticket. Please show your membership card at the entrance to validate your discount.
