  • One person trapped after A19 crash

A serious crash has closed the A19 in North Yorkshire this morning.

It’s shut just south of Thirsk, close to York Road.

The air ambulance has been called to the incident. Cars are being diverted away but there are long delays.

Crash location

We have no word yet on the vehicles involved or whether there are any casualties. We’ll update when more information comes through.

The collision is about 1.5 miles away from the crash on the A19 at Bagby on Saturday 11 January, which claimed the lives of a driver and an off-duty police officer.
