Crews from four fire stations were called to a blaze in a woodland hit by a number of fire starters in recent weeks.
Crews from Ripon, Bedale, Stokesley and Northallerton went to the incident in Kilburn at 7.53pm last night (Sunday).
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews located the fire which was deep seated and worked to extinguish the fire using knapsack sprayers and a water relay.

“Crews also used wildfire tools to dig fire break trenches.
“This fire is believed to have been started deliberately following a number of other fires at the same location in recent weeks.”
The fire service also went to another fire started deliberately last night, at Saltergate Bank, Lockton at 7.54pm.
Harrogate, Richmond and Whitby firefighters used water from a nearby reservoir to put out the blaze, which was 400 x 400 metres in size.
