The popular flame-grilled chicken chain Pepe’s Piri Piri is set to open in York next week.
We reported earlier this year that the fast food chicken franchise was opening soon – and now the wait is nearly over! Pepe’s Piri Piri will open in the old Argos store in Piccadilly on Monday (2 September) at 11am.
And it’s opening with a special offer of 20% off (collection only) for the first three days.
The restaurant will cater to both takeaway and dine-in customers.
The extensive menu will be offering up a variety of tasty options – including Pepe’s signature flame grilled wings, strips, burgers, a vegetarian collection and the store’s viral ‘Chick’n’Rice box’, which has attracted millions of views on social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.
“It’s hard to believe that it was just back in 2007 that we opened the first Pepe’s Piri Piri in Watford and this store in York puts us over 200 stores across the UK,” said Matt Hart, head of franchising at Pepe’s Piri Piri.
“We’re proud to be able to offer exciting franchising opportunities that can turn someone’s dream of owning and running their own business into a reality, and we’re looking forward to the success that we know Pepe’s York will be.
“Of course, we’re also delighted to bring our delicious fresh cooking methods and range of tasty flavours to the people of York who are in for a real treat.”
The flame-grilled chicken comes in six flavours: mango and lime, lemon and herb, mild, hot, extra hot, and extreme.
The opening of Pepe’s Piri Piri will continue the foodie renaissance of this end of Piccadilly. The German Doner Kebab outlet opened in 2022. And although the Piccadilly Café Bar has closed, that building is under offer.
“We are thrilled to be bringing Pepe’s to the York area,” said store owner, Usman Cheema.
“The team are excited to fire up the grills and get cooking in this local community which we’ll be proud to serve for what we’re sure will be many years to come.”
