There is a growing problem of rats in the centre of Ripon.
Someone is dumping food waste near Bondgate Bridge along the river path and it’s making the situation worse.
City Councillor Andrew Williams says “Whoever it is please stop!”
“Black sacks need to be put out on a Wednesday evening for collection on Thursday and those bags need to be secure to make it harder for the rats to gain access.
“All waste must be bagged and not placed loose on the pavement.” He added.
Rats are a potential health hazard and you can help to control the population by not making it easy for them to find food.
