Was Richard III all bad – and what were his links with the city that loved him?
These questions are likely to crop up as City of York Council’s archaeologist John Oxley leads a second series of free walks retracing Richard III’s steps around York.
The walks were fully booked when first run last autumn and return due to popular demand.
Part of York’s Richard III: Rumour and Reality project, John wrote a piece for YorkMix about the king’s links with the city ahead of the previous walking tours.

Meet at Micklegate Bar. Walk will finish at York Minster
Wining and Dining
Wednesday, March 19, 6pm
Meet at the Mansion House, St Helen’s Square. Walk will finish in Fossgate
Praying
Wednesday, March 26, 6pm
Meet West Door, York Minster. Walk will finish in Lendal
There is no charge for the walks. Each walk will accommodate a maximum 25 people.
