Striker Jake Wright has joined York City on a two-year deal after leaving neighbours Harrogate Town.
Wright, 21, scored six goals last season as Harrogate won promotion from Vanarama National League North via the play-offs.
He previously played for City two seasons ago – making seven appearances during a loan spell from Sheffield United.
Wright also played on loan for Southport and Gateshead during the 2016-17 season before joining Harrogate, initially on loan, in September 2017.
He completed a permanent transfer to Harrogate in March but rejected the opportunity to extend his stay this summer.
Glowing reference
City fans will remember Wright’s last performance at Bootham Crescent. He ran the home side ragged and scored a goal for Harrogate Town in their 0-2 victory in April.

He has won a promotion and had a taste of success which is important. I did a lot of work at the back end of the season, collating as much information as possible from Sheffield United, and he comes with a glowing reference.
He caught the eye against us last season and scored in the game at Bootham Crescent. He has good energy, his all-round game is good, and he is a great finisher. His goals-to-game ratio with Harrogate last season was very high.
He has turned Harrogate down to come here which is great. I hope he has a great season and helps get us where we need to go.
