Group of youths seen ‘causing damage’ on roof of North Yorkshire village library

Police are investigating after a group of youths were seen on the roof of a village library.

It happened on Saturday, 9 August at 6.20pm at Sherburn in Elmet library.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “It is reported that a group of youths on top of the roof have been disturbed whilst pulling off a wire cage next to an air con unit.”

There was no permanent damage caused.

Police are asking anyone who saw or heard anything, or who has video or dashcam footage, to contact them.
