Police are investigating a theft on York’s most famous street.
It happened on Shambles on Monday, 1 July at 7.45am.
A thief entered an insecure delivery van and stolen a handbag from the dashboard containing cash, a mobile phone and other items.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Do you have any information which would assist North Yorkshire Police in finding who was responsible and help keep your community safe?
“Did you or anyone living with you , hear or see anything around the above time and location and date?
“Do you have any CCTV/Mobile phone footage capturing the offence, or anything happening before or after?”
