A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The battery was removed from the premises prior to the arrival of the fire service, and placed in a pool of water to extinguish the fire.
“A thermal imaging camera was used to monitor the temperature of the battery and ensure it was not going to go into thermal runaway.
“The water it was placed in was also tested to see if it had reacted to the battery.”
