And you can now see his work at an exhibition at Aberford Interiors Gallery, at Aberford, south of Tadcaster.
Much of the artwork in the exhibition, entitled Built In Yorkshire And Sketches of France, involves building, or architectural details – all signed with David’s trademark bunny. People commissioning paintings of their houses receive a complimentary rabbit sculpture with their artwork.
David is artist of the month at John Long’s Aberford gallery with a show running until November 28 that features some of Yorkshire’s most iconic buildings and sketches from a recent French trip.
The self taught artist is inspired by the work of artists such as Ralph Steadman and John Piper.
Aberford Interior owner John Long said: “I’ve been supporting David since he started to exhibit his work commercially three years ago – in fact he was the first artist whose work we exhibited. People who buy his artwork, or commission a painting of their home, love his unique style that captures the personality and charm of a building.”
David also sells limited editions of his work nationally through Buckingham Fine Art and illustrates books covers for The Frogmore Press. A limited print of his cover Languages Of Colour published in May was created by The Curwen Studio, well known for its work with leading artists and illustrators.
David regularly reviews the newspapers on BBC Radio York.
