It’s your last chance to visit a popular York pub this weekend before its big refresh.
One of the oldest pubs in York, The Royal Oak, is about to undergo a traditional makeover.
The Goodramgate pub will be closed from Monday 3 March, for restoration work to restore some ’17th century elegance’.
The refurb is expected to take 11 days, with a reopening scheduled for 5pm on 14 March.
The pub is known for its popular Sunday dinners, extensive selection of drinks, and toasty open fire.
They regularly host a variety of community events, including live music shows and quiz nights.
Previously known as the Blue Pigg and the Blue Boar, the pub has been called the Royal Oak since 1819.

The historic timber-framed building is Grade II listed and dates back to the 15th century.
The site underwent alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as a major restoration project in 1934.
Here are some ‘before’ pictures of the interior. We can’t wait to see how it changes!
