A York shop that has been trading for nearly ten years has closed for good.
The Electric Transport Shop on Walmgate is now empty and shuttered.
A note has been left on the door of the building of the retailer of e-bikes and accessories.
It says: “York is such a beautiful city with wonderful people and culture.
“It’s been a pleasure to serve many dear customers over the last 10 years and it’s with deep regret that this store is closing – thank you to all of our dear customers.
“If you need any support please contact us via the usual email and website.”
The York store offered a wide range of services and repairs, including battery testing, cycle rescue, tyre fitting and problem diagnosis.
It also did loan and hires of bikes and had an off-road test area.
The Electric Bike Sales website still shows York as one of its four shops, alongside its branches in Cambridge, Oxford and Bristol.
There was no mention of the closure on its Instagram or Twitter channels at the time of publication.
