Key workers are being offered a discount on apartments at the new St John’s Mews residential development in York, which could save them more than £18,000.

The development in the Groves comprises 29 one, two and three-bed apartments, and is already 50 per cent sold.

And now Caedmon Homes has appointed award-winning Yorkshire property consultancy Preston Baker to market the development.

James Baker of Preston Baker commented: “This is an incredible opportunity. We are delighted to have been appointed by such a reputable and highly regarded developer.

“As a way of saying thank you for their tremendous work during the Covid-19 pandemic, key workers will be offered a five per cent discount on all two-bed apartments on site.”

The two-bedroom properties start from £295,000 to £360,000, the two-bedroom duplex properties with balconies are available from £375,000 and the three-bedroom properties from £425,000 and £450,000.

So the key worker discount could be worth between £14,750 and £18,750.

Good layout and views

St John’s Mews

Phase Two of the prestigious development, which comprises the two and three-bed apartments, has now been released.

One new St John’s Mews resident is Pam Samuel, who commented: “First of all, I liked the fact that St John’s Mews was not a multi-storey building. Also, the location mattered greatly as I wanted to be within walking distance of the city centre.

“I am very happy with my decision to move here. Everyone connected with the building and sale of my apartment has been helpful, friendly and accommodating.

“Both St John’s Mews and my apartment have a good layout and views. The development has been built to allow natural light into every room.”

Director of Easingwold-based Caedmon Homes Paul Brown said: “The affordability of the homes is a very important element of this project and, with the Government’s Help to Buy initiative, we have seen that a number of young professionals are able to become home-owners for the first time.

“We are extremely proud of St John’s Mews, which adds to the excellent reputation of the Groves as one of the city’s most popular residential areas.”

The show apartment is open at weekends. Find out more at the website.
