“We are working hard to keep you moving.”

The York outer ring road has been partially blocked by a crash today (Wednesday, 5 April).

There is queuing traffic both ways on the A1237 between the BP petrol station and Great North Way in the Rawcliffe area.

The AA is saying that it’s taking 15 minutes to get through.

It was first reported around 11am.

Police and fire crews are on the scene of a lorry fire close to the A1M this morning (Wednesday, 5 April).

It is on the A66 as it joins the Scotch Corner roundabout.

North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said: “We are at the roundabout at Scotch Corner following a vehicle fire.

“Please avoid the area if possible as the road is closed while the vehicle is made safe and recovery is made.

“We are working with our colleagues at North Yorkshire Police to reopen the area as soon as possible.”

The lorry fire is on the A66 westbound as it joins the roundabout at J53 Scotch Corner of the A1M.

The A66 is closed for westbound traffic trying to join from the A1M. The roundabout is partially closed so traffic is forced on to the A6108.

The crash that was causing significant traffic delays this morning (Friday, 31 March) has now been cleared.

The collision had blocked two northbound lanes of the A1M between Junction 48 for Boroughbridge and Junction 49 for Thirsk.

National Highways now says the collision has been cleared. Traffic is slow but should return to normal soon.

A crash is causing significant problems on the A1(M) this morning (Friday).

Traffic was briefly held after the collision in the Boroughbridge stretch of the motorway.

Two lanes of the northbound carriageway are shut between Junction 48 (the A6055 turnoff to Boroughbridge) and Junction 49 (A168 Thirsk).

It is taking about 30 minutes to get through. The National Highways website estimates it will be clear by 8.15am.

The AA reports: “Queueing traffic and two lanes closed due to crash on A1(M) Northbound from J48 A6055 (Boroughbridge) to J49 A168 (Thirsk / Dishforth).

“Lanes two and three (of three) remain closed after traffic was stopped for around fifteen minutes. “

Crash on A64 at York cleared and road back to normal

We reported earlier that a crash on the A64 had brought traffic to a standstill.

It was near Askham Bryan and partially blocked the eastbound carriageway from Redhill Field Lane (Bilbrough Top) to A1237 (Copmanthorpe roundabout).

The good news is the collision has been dealt with and the road is now back to normal.
