Crash on the A19 cleared

A crash on the A19 this morning (Monday, 27 February) has now been cleared.

We reported earlier that the collision was at Escrick, at the junction of Skipwith Road.

The incident is now over. Traffic queues that had built up on the road is slowly clearing.

There’s been a crash on the A19 this morning (Monday, 27 February).

It’s happened at Escrick, at the junction of Skipwith Road.

The AA says: “Restrictions and slow traffic due to crash on A19 both ways at Skipwith Road.”

Crash on A64 cleared

The crash on the A64 has been cleared.

Earlier this morning (Monday, 20 February) we reported how the road was partially blocked after a collision close to the Claxton turn-off, north of York.

The road is now clear and running normally.

A crash on the A64 is causing problems this morning (Monday, 20 February).

YorkMix understands that the collision is on the eastbound carriageway near Claxton.

Emergency services are on the scene.

The AA is reporting delays of nine minutes westbound between Foston Lane and Scotchman Lane, and of 12 minutes eastbound. Delays are increasing.

A1M closed to high sided vehicles north of York

The A1M is currently closed to high-sided vehicles for a long stretch north of York.

The closure is between J47 York and J56 near Darlington due to the strong winds which have seen a number of lorries overturn this morning.

High-sided vehicles travelling towards Scotland are advised to use the M6.

Meanwhile, the A1M is now open southbound at J51 after an overturned lorry was recovered.

LNER reports ‘major disruption’ with no electric trains running between York and Edinburgh

Significant delays have hit the East Coast Main Line thanks to Storm Otto this morning.

LNER said it is expecting ‘major disruption’ from York northwards.

The company said: “Severe weather between York and Edinburgh means no electric trains are able to run between these stations. Other services may be affected by speed restrictions. 

“Disruption is expected until 3pm.

“Rail replacement buses have been requested. We will provide further information once more is known.”
