Hello and welcome to the YorkMix live blog on A level results day 2024. Good luck to all students getting your grades today!
We begin with a message from Cllr Bob Webb, City of York Council’s education lead.
He said: “It’s always wonderful to be able to celebrate young people’s achievements. And for each set of results, there is an individual story of hard work and dedication.
“I wish all the students the best of luck on the next stage of their journey, whether that’s into work, further or higher education, or other opportunities.
“But I also want to reassure students that help is at hand if your grades weren’t quite what you were hoping for. Whatever your plans are for the future you can seek support locally and I would always encourage you to speak to your school or college first; they know you best and can provide bespoke support.”
Advice is also available for people considering apprenticeships or other employment opportunities, or for those wanting to move into full-time education.
