Drivers have been warned that the temporary traffic lights have gone out at a key junction in York this morning (Wednesday, 6 March).

Travel York shared this post on X at 7.38am: “We are aware of the issue with the temporary signals on Micklegate / Bridge Street.

“The traffic management company for these lights are currently on site working on a fix. Apologies for any delays this is causing to your journeys.”

The three-way traffic lights are to steer traffic round the gasworks at the top of Skeldergate, which has closed the entrance to the road.

At 8am traffic was actually flowing more freely than normal.
