Lorry spills rubble across A64 in York – Drivers asked to avoid
Police are advising York drivers to avoid the A64 near its junction with the A19 this lunchtime (Wednesday, 14 February).
A lorry has spilled a lot of rubble on the road.
Traffic police posted this message on their social channels: “Disruption to traffic flow on A64 at A19 junction eastbound.
“A lorry has lost large amounts of rubble on the A64 and surrounding roads in this immediate area.
“Traffic is very slow so an alternative route may be a good option in the short term.
“Please drive safely.”

It’s on the westbound A64 between the A1079 and A19 junctions.

Debris on the road causing problems on M1 and A1M
A lorry has shed its load of fence rails on the M1 bringing the road to a standstill this morning (Wednesday, 31 January).
It has happened on the M1 southbound at junction 47 A656 (Garforth / Micklefield).
All lanes stopped and there is stationary traffic due to the debris in the road.
The incident is having a knock-on effect on the A1M, with slow traffic near the junction.
Emergency services called after car goes into trees on A64
Emergency services are on the scene after a car left the road and went into trees on the A64 this morning (Tuesday, 30 January).
The incident happened on the eastbound carriageway at the Fulford interchange.
Police and ambulance crews are at the scene. Traffic is slow but moving.
Meanwhile a stalled car has closed a lane on the exit ramp of the A64 eastbound at A1079 Hull Road (Grimston Bar Interchange).
It is causing slow traffic along Hull Road.
Upturned vehicle on fire causing tailbacks on A1M in North Yorkshire
A vehicle has overturned and caught fire on a major road in North Yorkshire this morning (Tuesday, 30 January).
One lane of the A1M is closed due to the fire, slowing traffic to a crawl.
The lane is shut southbound from junction 45 A659 Wattlesyke (Boston Spa) to junction 44 A64 (York / Tadcaster).
