A man is in custody following an incident in York city centre.
The 40-year-old man from York was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault by touching, and being drunk and disorderly.
The incident happened in York city centre at around 5.40pm on Wednesday (15 January).
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers attended and carried out a search for the suspect. He was arrested nearby at 6.04pm.
“The victim is being supported while enquiries continue.”
The man is being held in custody for questioning.
