Police investigating the hit-and-run crash which killed 19-year-old Bailey Chadwick have made an arrest.
Late last night (Thursday) a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He is in police custody.
The collision happened on the B6265 at Lupton Bank, between Pateley Bridge and Glasshouses during the early hours of Sunday (20 July).
Bailey had worked in a local pub then seen friends in Pateley Bridge that night. He was struck as he was walking home.
He had been due to go travelling to Thailand this week.

On Wednesday his devastated family went to the scene of the incident and made an emotional appeal for the driver to come forward.
His mother Dayle Knights said: “Bailey was just a normal, happy, outgoing 19-year-old, who had his whole life ahead of him.”
Following the arrest, a North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Please note that the public should not speculate on social media to avoid prejudicing any potential future court proceedings.”
Police are still appealing for information. You can contact them on the numbers below.
