A man was attacked from behind as he walked close to a York petrol station.
The victim, who is in his 20s, was approached from behind at around midnight on Saturday (January 23) near the BP petrol station on Hull Road.
His attacker punched him in the face before making off.
A police spokesman said: “We’d urge any witnesses, or anyone with further information, to call North Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote reference number 12160013822.”
