A man was stabbed in York this lunchtime – and armed police are now searching for the suspect.
As YorkMix reported earlier, officers sealed off Walmgate this afternoon following the suspected stabbing.
An ambulance took one person to hospital after the victim was given first aid at the scene by local people.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Police were called by the ambulance service to an incident in the Walmgate area of York at around 12.17pm on 3 June.
“A man was taken to hospital with a suspected stab wound to his chest.
“A cordon was put in place while officers examined the scene of the incident.
“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the suspect involved in the incident.

“Officers believe the people involved are known to each other and although of concern and alarming to the people who witnessed it, officers believe that the wider public were not at risk.”
About an hour after the first call, armed officers went to an address on Trinity Court, in the Micklegate area.
Police dogs were also at the scene.

This was part of the ongoing search to find the suspect in the case. No one was arrested.
