Murder charges following death of Acomb attack victim

North Yorkshire Police can confirm that the two individuals suspected of attacking Keith Wright in Acomb, York, on 21 January 2013, have today been charged with his murder.

Mr Wright, 50, died at Leeds General Infirmary on 31 January after being on a life support machine.

Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, 19-year-old Liam Matthew Wyard and a 16-year-old youth who cannot be named for legal reasons, were charged jointly with Mr Wright’s murder.

They have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at York Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 14 February 2013, 9.15am, court room 1.
