A small chain of coffee shops is opening a venue in York city centre this summer.
Caffé Massarella is now converting a former shop and museum on Feasegate.
Founded by a family who moved to Yorkshire from Italy 150 years ago, it offers the type of food “our Mammas have cooked for generations”.
The new coffee shop is in the unit that previously housed Old Penny Lane, a museum of old arcade machines.
It shut suddenly last July after opening at Easter that year.

Before the museum, the shop was home to bookshop New Stories and before that CMD Womenswear.
Caffé Massarella has branches inside the Harrogate Next store, both the Atkinsons Department Store and at Meadowhall in Sheffield, Peak Village in the Peak District and at Pearsons Department Store in Enfield.
Its menu includes a range of coffees and other drinks, breakfasts including bacon brioche, plus sandwiches and paninis.
Its opening continues the regeneration of Feasegate. Recent incomers include insurance broker Howden and the Anime Gallery shop and café.
